Course Reflection

In this course I learned alot about relationships. While the focus of the class was relationships in the family, the knowledge will be applicable across many relationships for me in the future. I think unit 3’s essay is the greatest example of this. The essay is about the idea of the different ways people handle conflict. While handling conflict in a spousal relationship is much more crucial, understanding conflict styles can help you handle conflict with anyone in daily life.

I find this external value more important to myself now in part due to me being single and comfortable with that. I sometimes find it hard to see the appeal in marriage. My unit 5 essay reflects to me the more exact appeal of marriage and the factual data on how most people benefit from it. I learned how hard it is to quantify the positivity that marriage causes but how it still does show positivity overall. I'm proud of this essay the most because of the deeper dive I took to make it. I feel I learned a lot in this course that I think it will help me in relationships in the future.
