Jack & Jill Project

For this project we were tasked to make designs using a set of provided symbols. With the symbols were were tasked to draw out six frames based on the "Jack and Jill" nursery rhyme. These frames were to be square and just use black and white. We were told we could do this project with either digital or physical means and I chose digital.

To start I made thumbnail sketches and I started with a plan in mind but in the time I worked on the thumbnail sketches I realized I prefered an abstract version of the project. I also decided telling a story really interested me and on the symbol sheet I found the sun and flower and decided that they would make a perfect Jack and Jill in my story. From there I went right into Illustrator to remake the symbols I wanted to use and create a finished design.

I really liked the process of choosing the symbols and that process. I had to redo a lot of the symbols I chose and that was not very enjoyable. If I had more time I think I would have done this physically because all of the physical ones look so good. I think I did okay but more effort could have made mine a lot better.
