Population Growth Assignment

HallJ Population Growth.docx

Reflection

This assignment was about learning the way population growth is exponential without limiting factors. We started by counting seed in a pepper and using that number to exponentially grow a population. From there we analyzed our graph and looked at the limiting factors of this growth. I then came to the conclusion that populations would come to a plateau and couldn't grow forever. This assignment helped me to make a better connection when it comes to limiting factors and population growth.

Land Ethic Assignment

HallJ The Land Ethic.docx

Reflection

This assignment was about exploring the fundamentals of conservation ethics through the writings of Aldo Leopold. He is still known as the father of wildlife ecology and his book "The Sand County Almanac" is studied and referenced throughout conservationist groups today. The most important thing I learned was the importance of us understanding that we are members of a biological community and how we need to act as such. This assignment also helped me put words to feeling when it comes to conservation.
