Communication self-reflection

In reflection of this communication class, I find myself thinking of both progress and introspection. Although after retaking the communication self-evaluations I found minimal improvement, I feel I still emerge with a profound sense of understanding. When looking at the repeated self-assessment, I'm confronted the persistence of certain communication pitfalls while I still gained a deeper appreciation for the subtleties at play within interpersonal dynamics.

Integral to this class and expansion of knowledge were exercises like the public speaking assignment and collaborative group projects, which honed my practical communication skills. The public speaking assignment provided a platform for confronting my anxieties and refining my ability to convey ideas with clarity and conviction. Similarly, the group assignment fostered a collaborative problem solving environment and necessitated adept negotiation and conflict resolution and was a good example of real-world communication challenges. Through these experiences, I not only gained more competency but also cultivated a heightened sensitivity to nonverbal cues and ethical considerations inherent in effective communication.

As the class comes to a close, I am aware of the transformative impact it has had on my understanding of communication. Beyond the class itself, its lessons will continue my interpersonal interactions and help me towards a more empathetic and intentional approach to communication. With newfound insights and learning, I will continue on a journey of learning the enduring power of communication.
